Summer of Success

Updated: Jan 26

By definition: 'The accomplishment of an aim or purpose.' - Thanks Google!

After a rocky start to the year with a very strict lockdown in Spain, we decided a trip back to the UK, as soon as was reasonably possible was needed.

After compiling a list of all the things I wanted to achieve with my summer I came to the conclusion that above all, if I invested my focus on recharging and moments of joy with my family; the rest would take care of itself.

Gaining some success with writing projects during lockdown and receiving positive recommendations really pushed me in a direction I was taking my time to reach.

It became clear that I had come full circle. Writing for businesses back in 2014 and working freelance was a memory I'd held fondly, but fresh out of university, it was a steep learning curve when after a few months of success; the client I was working with at the time employed someone with arguably "more experience".

Fast- forward, past some soul searching, professional diversity in my experience, one child and a lot thicker skin and I'm back!

Niche client group in- tow and my schedule and financial security have allowed me to work with clients I care about- female business owners. Leaders and pioneers.

With a commissioned piece of work and several clients under my belt, I think it's safe to say I'm finding my way.

The restoration and joyful moments came too! Afternoons exploring the woods with my son and partner, playing in parks and a memorable goodbye, topped off with a good old knees up - partying my way into my 30's.

The summer has been by my own admission- a success! I'm excited to see how the rest of the year plays out; I certainly couldn't have imagined the wins I've had so far at the start of the year.

What have your big wins been in a year that will certainly go down in history?
